Western Lights Festival

Western Lights is Reno’s first-ever illuminated art festival, designed to light up the Biggest Little City with an extraordinary blend of light, art, and technology. Produced by the renowned Grand Artique and set against the vibrant backdrop of Reno’s historic downtown, this festival transforms familiar streets into an open-air gallery of glowing installations. Each piece celebrates creativity and innovation, inviting attendees to wander through dazzling displays, interactive exhibits, and immersive experiences that pay homage to Reno’s unique culture and artistic roots.

Western Lights needed a symbol that could hold its own against a city full of glow. We built an arc mark that feels like a rising sun and a bank of LEDs at the same time, then refined spacing and contrast so it stays crisp on signs, screens, and stage backdrops at night. The logo is present but never shouting, and it sits on purposeful backgrounds that keep readability high in photos and crowds. It is a beacon for a festival that turns streets into a gallery of light.

The palette moves from twilight purple and cosmic raspberry to golden yellow and sunset orange so every piece carries the warmth of evening and the spark of neon. We paired Clayo for confident uppercase headlines with Poppins for friendly body copy, then tested contrast to meet accessibility standards across print and web. Graphic assets like radiant arches and gradient circles add motion without noise and scale cleanly from wristbands to building wraps. The toolkit makes it easy for every partner to produce materials that look like one festival.

The voice promises wonder without jargon. Headlines invite people to explore an illuminated arts festival, while body copy is welcoming and clear about what to expect and how to join in. We keep calls to action simple so visitors can plan a night out, artists can apply, and partners can get involved. Curiosity turns into participation because the story is bright, human, and easy to follow.
